LEX 3874
Participants learn the requirements and qualifications of the notary public office. Requirements for attestation, fees, general powers and limitations, certifications, oaths, affirmations and affidavits are taught. NC Notaries must have a high school diploma or GED; must be at least 18 years old; read, write, and speak English; have no felony convictions; and successfully complete this approved notary course.
Additional costs include: commission fee to Secretary of State, $50; swearing in at the courthouse, $10; required textbook purchased from bookstore (cost varies); notary seal (cost varies). Prepayment of tuition and purchase of the Notary Manual prior to class is required.

The 2026 North Carolina Notary Public Manual is required for this course. Please note that your Notary Manual must be purchased from the RCC Bookstore before 3:00 p.m. on the Friday before class begins. If you cannot come to the RCC Bookstore to purchase your book in person, please allow time for the book to be shipped to you from the RCC Bookstore. Additional shipping and handling charges will apply.
This class has a mandatory Zoom meeting that students must attend with their camera on. Students also must log in to Canvas prior to the class to complete paperwork and prepare for the Zoom session. Classes on Fridays are online, and Saturday sessions are live virtual meetings.

QuickBooks for Beginners
ACC 7120
Learn the basic financial principles and procedures needed to manage a small to mid-size business utilizing the accounting software program, QuickBooks. This course is intended for those who are new to QuickBooks as well as those who have utilized earlier versions.
- Class will meet face-to-face one night a week and a portion of the coursework will be delivered online. Prepayment of tuition and purchase of course materials are required.

Resume Writing and Interviews
HRD 3001
Students are led through the process of writing a resume, understanding how to revise resumes and use cover letters, as well as how to organize a job search, use resources to create leads, and interview with confidence. Class fees waived for the unemployed and those who meet economic guidelines.

Welding: Basic MIG
WLD 7011
This 108-hour program introduces gas metal arc welding and flux core arc welding processes. Topics include equipment set up and fillet and groove weld with emphasis on application of GMAW and FCAW electrodes on steel plate, as well as basic welding measurement and print reading. Upon completion, students will have the knowledge base to seek employment as entry level MIG welders. This course also prepares students to continue into the RCC Welding Technology certificate and diploma programs, with possible articulation upon successful completion and approved articulation application process.
Required Supplies: Welding helmet, variable shade level 10+, welding gloves, welding jacket or long sleeve cotton button up shirt, leather boots (steel toe not required), cotton pants (i.e. jeans), cotton welding cap (optional)

Welding: GTAW (tig) Plate
WLD 7008
This course introduces the gas tungsten arc (TIG) welding process. Topics include correct selection of tungsten, polarity, gas, and proper filler rod with emphasis placed on safety, equipment setup, and welding techniques. Upon completion, students should be able to perform GTAW fillet and groove welds with various electrodes and filler materials.

Windows 11 Fundamentals
OST 7143
This course introduces students to the new Windows 11 operating system. Students will learn topics such as how to get started, customize Windows settings, manage files and folders, use and download apps, install devices, complete a system back up, and more. The class will also focus on key differences between Windows 10 and Windows 11. This course is instructor-led and delivered on campus. Prepayment of tuition is required.
