Integrated Pest Management
AGR 7003
Integrated Pest Management introduces students to the principles and practices of environmentally responsible pest control through a systems-based approach that emphasizes pest identification, monitoring, threshold-based decision-making, and the integration of cultural, biological, mechanical, and chemical control methods. Students learn to diagnose pest problems, evaluate ecological and economic impacts, and design effective IPM strategies that prioritize sustainability, regulatory compliance, and safety across agricultural, greenhouse, landscape, and urban environments. The course prepares learners to develop comprehensive management plans that reduce environmental risk, support long-term ecosystem health, and promote efficient, science-based pest management solutions. Students are encouraged to bring gloves to class. This course will be instructor-led and delivered on campus. Prepayment of tuition is required.
