Cisco CCNA Course 1 – Introduction to Networks

This course introduces the architecture, structure, functions, components, and models of the Internet and computer networks. Topics include an introduction to the principles of IP addressing and fundamentals of Ethernet concepts, media, and operations. Upon completion, students should be able to build simple LANs, perform basic configurations for routers and switches, and implement IP addressing schemes.  Networking experience is helpful but not mandatory.  This course is offered in a three-course sequence leading to the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).  Students must complete CCNA 1 – Introduction to Networks, CCNA 2 – Switching and Routing, and CCNA 3 – Enterprise Networking, to take the certification exam.  This is a hybrid course. Class will meet face-to-face one night per week and a portion of the coursework will be delivered online.  Prepayment of tuition and purchase of the course materials is required. Registration fees do not include certification exam fees.
