This course is designed for instructional areas related to individuals who want to become commissioned as an electronic notary. Topics include legal, ethical and procedural requirements of the Notary Act set forth in the General Statute 10B Article 2. Upon completion of this course with a passing exam grade of 80%, a person is eligible to make an application with the NC Secretary of State office. Individuals must have current notary commission to participate in E-notary training. For more information, visit the North Carolina Secretary of State’s website for more information.

Additional costs include: application fee to Secretary of State, $50; oath of office at the courthouse, $10; required textbook purchased from bookstore (cost varies); notary seal (cost varies). Prepayment of tuition and purchase of the E-Notary Manual prior to class is required.

Please note that your E-notary Manual must be purchased from the RCC Bookstore before 3:00 p.m. on the Friday before class begins. If you cannot come to the RCC Bookstore to purchase your book in person, please allow time for the book to be shipped to you from the RCC Bookstore. Additional shipping and handling charges will apply.

This class has a mandatory Zoom meeting that students must attend with their camera on. Students also must log in to Moodle prior to the class to complete paperwork and prepare for the Zoom session. Classes on Fridays are online, and Saturday sessions are live virtual meetings.
