Register Now for Summer Camps
Apr 22, 2026Rockingham Community College is offering a range of summer learning opportunities designed to strengthen academic skills and expose students to future career pathways, with programs available for students from rising seventh grade through high school.
This summer, the college will host two math-focused camps for middle school and early high school students, along with three no-cost Career Launch pathways for high school students that combine hands-on learning with college credit and career exploration.

Summer Math Camps for Rising 7th–9th Graders
RCC’s Summer Math Camps are open to students entering seventh, eighth, and ninth grades and are designed to help participants build confidence in mathematics while exploring real-world applications in science, technology, engineering, and math-related fields. They will be held Mondays-Thursdays from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. in RCC’s Science Building, Room 103B. The cost is $75, and students should bring a packed lunch each day.
Math Camp: Trigonometry and Functions Exploration will be held June 15–25. Students will study trigonometric functions, strengthen problem-solving skills, and learn how math concepts connect to real-world applications. The camp also provides early exposure to STEM-related fields.
The second offering, Math Camp: Statistical Methods and Data Exploration, will take place July 6–16. This camp focuses on statistical thinking, using real-world datasets, and applying technology to create charts, tables, and data summaries. Students will engage with college-level material while learning how data analysis is used in everyday decision-making.
Both math camps are designed for students ages 13 and older and emphasize hands-on activities and practical learning experiences.

Career Launch: No-Cost Summer Programs for High School Students
In addition to the math camps, RCC is offering Career Launch, a free summer program for high school students graduating in 2026, 2027, or 2028. Career Launch provides immersive, career-focused experiences that allow students to earn high school and college credit while exploring high-demand career fields.
Students will engage in real‑world, skills‑based learning aligned with local workforce needs. Each pathway offers practical experience that connects classroom learning to future careers.
Students learn in small cohorts taught by RCC faculty alongside a Career & Technical Education (CTE) high school teacher, gaining academic confidence, college readiness skills, and familiarity with campus life.
Career Launch runs from June 15 through July 21, with no classes scheduled July 1-2. Students attend classes on campus Mondays-Thursdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., with lunch provided at no cost.
Students may apply to one of three academic pathways:
- Early Childhood Education, which includes coursework in early childhood education and 60 hours of job shadowing, allowing students to earn college credit, one high school credit, and internship hours.
- Welding, where students take a gas metal arc welding course aligned with workforce needs and earn both high school and college credit.
- Fine Arts – Visual Arts, which offers instruction in drawing and foundational visual arts skills, with students earning high school and college credit.
All Career Launch program costs — including tuition, textbooks, materials, and fees — are covered, removing financial barriers for students and families. Participants who successfully complete the program may also be eligible for a stipend.
Building Skills and Career Awareness
Together, the math camps and Career Launch programs reflect RCC’s broader commitment to preparing students for academic success and future careers by offering early exposure to college-level learning and workforce pathways. Families are encourage to register early, as space is limited.
