This course introduces the principles of entrepreneurship. Topics include self-analysis of entrepreneurship readiness, the role of entrepreneur in economic development, legal problems, organizational structure, sources of financing, budgeting, and cash flow. Upon completion, students should understand the entrepreneurial process and issues faced by entrepreneurs.

Industrial Safety

This course introduces the principles of industrial safety. Emphasis is placed on industrial safety and OSHA regulations. Upon completion, students should be able to demonstrate knowledge of a safe working environment and OSHA compliance.

CNC Turning

Jul 9, 2020
This course introduces the programming, setup, and operation of CNC turning centers. Topics include programming formats, control functions, program editing, part production, and inspection. Upon completion, students should be able to manufacture simple parts using CNC turning centers.

Mechanisms

Jul 9, 2020
This course introduces the purpose and action of various mechanical devices. Topics include cams, cables, gear trains, differentials, screws, belts, pulleys, shafts, levers, lubricants, and other devices. Upon completion, students should be able to analyze, maintain, and troubleshoot the components of mechanical systems.

Individual Income Taxes

This course introduces the relevant laws governing individual income taxation. Topics include tax law, electronic research and methodologies, and the use of technology for preparation of individual income tax returns. Upon completion, students should be able to analyze basic tax scenarios, research applicable tax law, and complete various individual tax forms.

SMAW (stick) Plate

Jul 9, 2020
This course introduces the shielded metal arc (stick) welding process. Emphasis is placed on padding, fillet, and groove welds in various positions with SMAW electrodes. Upon completion, students should be able to perform SMAW fillet and groove welds on carbon plate with prescribed electrodes.

Office Procedures

This course introduces the skills and procedures needed in today’s office. Topics include effectively interacting with co0workers and the public, processing simple financial and informational documents, and performing functions typical of today’s offices. Upon completion, students should be able to display skills and decision-making abilities essential for functioning in the total office context.

Intrusion Detection

This course introduces the student to intrusion detection methods in use today. Topics include the types of intrusion detection products, traffic analysis, and planning and placement of intrusion detection solutions. Upon completion, students should be able to plan and implement intrusion detection solution for networks and host-based systems.

HVAC Duct Systems I

This course introduces the techniques used to lay out and fabricate duct work commonly found in HVAC systems. Emphasis is placed on the skills required to fabricate duct work. Upon completion, students should be able to lay out and fabricate simple duct work.

This course introduces the theories and fundamentals of the investigative process. Topics include crime scene/incident processing, information gathering techniques, collection/preservation of evidence, preparation of appropriate reports, court presentations, and other related topics.
