Author Donna Everhart to speak

Aug 18, 2023

North Carolina author Donna Everhart will speak at Rockingham Community College on Tuesday, Sept. 5 at 1 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

Everhart’s latest novel, “The Saints of Swallow Hill,” has been described as “’Where the Crawdads Sing’ meets ‘The Four Winds.’”

The story immerses readers in its unique setting – the turpentine camps and pine forests of the American South during the Great Depression. It is a captivating story of friendship, survival, and three vagabonds’ intersecting lives.

Everhart is the USA Today bestselling author of authentic, vivid Southern fiction, including the Southeastern Library Association’s award-winning “The Road to Bittersweet.”

The event will be held at the Gerald James library on the RCC campus. The nearby parking is closed due to construction, so the best place to park is at the Whitcomb Student Center, 484 County Home Road, Wentworth. The sidewalk to the right of the building leads straight to the library.

For more information, contact the library at library@RockinghamCC.edu or 336-342-4261 ext. 2247.
