What type of computer should I use at RCC?
When taking classes at RCC, Technology Support Services recommends a device that meets the following minimum requirements:
- 2.4 GHZ Processor
- Windows 10 or 11
- Ram 8GB
- Storage 256GB
- Solid-state Drive (SSD)
- Webcam, Microphone and Speakes
Chromebooks are NOT recommended

How to Change Password
Listed below are the steps students must follow to reset their passwords:
- Go to www.rockinghamcc.edu
- Click on “MYRCC”
- Click “Email” and login to your account.
- Click your name in the top right corner of your screen.
- Click “View Account”.
- Click “Change Password” to change your password.
Passwords must be a minimum of 14 characters in length and must contain lowercase letters, uppercase letters, special characters, and numbers.

Free Access to Microsoft Office
Students using Office 365 will have the option of using either the web applications of Office (in the cloud) or install a full version of Office on their home computer.
The web applications will allow students to open, edit, and create documents anywhere at any time wherever you have internet access with limited features.
The full version of Office will allow students to open, edit and create documents on their computers with all of the features. The full Office on your PC and Mac are available for offline use. Students are allowed to run Office on up to five machines.
Instructions for installing Microsoft Office
Please note that students with Chromebooks will not be able to install the software.
- Login to your RCC email
- Click the nine dots in the upper left corner
- Click the icon labeled “Microsoft 365
- Click “Install and more”
- Click “Install Microsoft 365 apps”
- The installation will include the latest version of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Access, Publisher, Outlook, and OneDrive for Business.
- Click “Install Office”
- The “OfficeSetup.exe” will download
- Double click the “OfficeSetup.exe” file to begin the installation
- Follow the onscreen prompts to complete the installation
- Depending on your Internet speed this process can take 3 – 15 minutes.
- Once the setup is complete, you can begin using the Microsoft applications
Setting up Office 365 on Your Phone
- Download the “Outlook” app by going to your App or Play store
- In the search box in your App or Play store, type “Microsoft Outlook”
- Click “Install” (this may take a few minutes depending on internet speed)
- Click “Open” to setup your account
- If it is your first time using the Outlook App, enter your full RCC email address
- Click “Continue” or “Add Account”
- Click “Get Started”
- You will be re-directed to the RCC login page
- Enter your username and password
- Click “Skip”
- Click “Skip”
- Your account is now ready to access.
- **If not your first time using Outlook, please follow the instructions below to setup your account:
- Open “Menu”
- Click “Settings”
- Click “Add Account”
- Click “Add Email Account”
Self Service Information
Self Service can be accessed on the MyRCCLogin page using your RCC username and password.
