I am proud to present artwork in this semester’s Student Art Show at Rockingham Community College. The work on display was created by RCC curriculum students, RCC continuing education students, and Rockingham County high school students from Dalton McMichael High School, Morehead High School, and Rockingham County High School. This semester’s exhibition was curated by ART 214 students Katherine Mullins, Isaiah Brown, and me, Maddie Thaxton.
I am really proud of myself and follow my classmates this semester. In previous semesters we struggled with online learning, class restrictions, and the pandemic, but we are finally back to normal. It feels like a breath of fresh air. I am glad to have a sense of normalcy, socialize with classmates, and get back into the studios creating art with my peers.
The work in this exhibition is amazing and I am honored to be a part of it. My classmates and I put in a great deal of time and effort into our artwork this semester. I want to also thank our great instructors, Phil and Kirsten, for pushing us to become better artists. Each semester my skills improve and I am gaining more and more knowledge on how to be an artist.
