RCC Career Expo Week set for April 8-11
Mar 29, 2019WENTWORTH – Rockingham Community College has expanded its Career Expo this year, to include four days of career-related events.
The expo itself will be held from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. on Thursday, April 11, in the Robert C. Keys Gymnasium located at 558 County Home Road.
Over 30 employers have signed up to participate in the event, put on by partners RCC, Goodwill, and NC Works.
“For this year, we will have live interviews on the spot during the expo,” said Chelsea Cromartie, RCC assistant director of counseling services. “I’ve gotten a lot of interest from employers wanting to hire our students and wanting to do recruiting on campus.”
The Career Expo not only showcases employers, it also presents resources available to job seekers, according to Cromartie. For instance, while students can utilize RCC’s counseling services during college hours, they – and members of the community – can access resources at Goodwill and NC Works.
“The Career Expo and events all week are open to students and the community,” said Cromartie. “The events (on April 8-10) are designed to prepare people for the expo.”
