Growing Leaders: Osborne Completes NCCCLP
Jul 29, 2026When Josh Osborne was selected to participate in the North Carolina Community College Leadership Program (NCCCLP), he saw it as an opportunity to grow professionally and expand his understanding of leadership in higher education. What he gained was much more—a network of colleagues from across the state, valuable leadership skills, and a renewed commitment to serving students and the community.
Osborne, who serves as director of Information Systems and Institutional Research at Rockingham Community College, is among the graduates of the NCCCLP, a prestigious six-month leadership development program designed for mid-career community college professionals across North Carolina. The program helps participants strengthen their leadership abilities, explore best practices, and prepare for future leadership roles within the state’s community college system.
Selected by college presidents as aspiring leaders, NCCCLP participants engage in a cohort-based experience that includes immersive retreats, professional learning opportunities, and discussions focused on the most pressing issues facing community colleges today. The program emphasizes leadership development, collaboration, and innovation—qualities that Osborne has carried into his work each day.
Osborne’s participation in the NCCCLP reflects his dedication to continuous learning and professional growth. The knowledge, relationships, and experiences he gained through the program continue to benefit RCC and the students it serves.
Since its founding in 1989, the NCCCLP has helped develop generations of community college leaders throughout North Carolina. The program’s alumni include presidents, vice presidents, deans, directors, department chairs, and other leaders who help shape the future of higher education across the state.
For Osborne, the experience provided an opportunity to step back from daily responsibilities and think strategically about leadership, communication, and service. Through collaboration with professionals from colleges across North Carolina, he gained new perspectives and developed relationships that continue to strengthen his work today.
