Flexible Classes Available
Feb 15, 2024Rockingham Community College is offering courses in the fall that can accommodate students who may have tight work or home life schedules.
These “Hybrid-Flexible” courses – known as HyFlex – enable students to choose from three attendance options.
HyFlex Class Options
1. Attending class in person, in a specific room at a specific time
as colleges have traditionally done;
2. Attending class online via livestream; or
3. Attending online
outside of the scheduled meeting time.
Students do not have to stick with one option, but can vary their manner of attendance based on their availability.
The recordings are assessable to all students no matter how they attend class, which allows any of them to log in and review classes to reinforce their learning.
All students, regardless of how they attend class, will experience the same quality of instruction, learning activities, and assessments.
RCC started offering HyFlex courses during the fall 2023 semester. So far, over 60 students have taken advantage of HyFlex classes in Psychology and Spanish.
In the 2024 fall semester, RCC will expand its HyFlex offerings to include:
- Abnormal Psychology ( PSY 281 -0095)
- African-American History ( HIS 221 -0095)
- History of Rock Music ( MUS 210 -0095)
- Introduction to Business ( BUS 110 -0095)
- Substance Abuse ( CJC 213 -0095)
- Statistical Methods I ( MAT 152 -0095)
For fall classes, registration for current students begins on April 8, and registration opens for new students on April 10. Summer term registration is already open for everyone.
