FAFSA events and an AirPods giveway
Oct 2, 2025Rockingham Community College is excited to announce several upcoming events to help high school seniors and their parents understand and fill out their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
If you are a high school senior or their parent who is ready to conquer the cost of college? October is the prime month of starting the process of securing money for college, and Rockingham Community College is here to help with the FAFSA process. And students who complete a FAFSA during October have a chance to win a set of Apple AirPods!
Filing a FAFSA gives students access to:
- Federal aid such as grants, scholarships, work-study jobs, and student loans
- State aid and scholarships
- College or university financial aid and scholarships
- Private scholarships that require FAFSA completion
Upcoming events:
Free Application Week in High Schools
- Monday-Sunday, Oct. 20-26
- RCC faculty and staff will have displays and information on programs
- Look for us at these schools during the day:
- Rockingham County High School on Monday
- McMichael High School on Tuesday
- Morehead High School on Wednesday
- Reidsville High School on Thursday
College Night at Rockingham Community College
- Thursday, Oct. 23
- 6-9 p.m.
- Learn about programs to study at RCC
- Meet faculty in the areas of Health Sciences, Welding, Manufacturing Technology, College Transfer, and Business and Technology
- Campus will be open for tours of program areas
- Admissions, Advising, and Financial Aid staff will be available to help
- Computer labs will be open for students to complete their FAFSA
- RCC Center for Workforce Development, 184 Wrenn Memorial Road, Wentworth
- Free pizza will be served at 6 p.m.
