After reviewing resumes and applications, an employer will interview the applicants who seem most qualified for a position. Interviews can be held by phone, interactive video, and in person. Interviews may be one-on-one or can be with a panel of people who are with a company. Some employers ask applicants to self-record answers to specific questions and submit them. There are even situations where multiple applicants will be interviewed at once.

The purpose of interviews is to verify a candidate’s abilities and to see if they will compliment and integrate well with other workers or staff. Most employers want a conversation rather than a strict Q&A session.

Be prepared by knowing yourself and knowing something about the company where you are interviewing. Present yourself well by dressing, grooming, behaving, and interacting appropriately.

Set up an appointment to gain tips and information which will improve your confidence in any interview!
