Two Stained Glass classes offered this fall
Aug 14, 2020RCC has added two Stained Glass classes to its Continuing Education lineup this fall.
This Fundamentals of Stained Glass course is designed to teach the art of stained glass making at the introductory level. Course work will include discussion on the history and trends of the art, practice in the art of stained glass making, and information to build and supply appropriate studios.
The classes will be taught on Thursday evenings from 6:15-9:15 p.m. by long-time instructor Louise Butler.
Available sessions are Aug. 27-Oct. 15 and Oct. 22-Dec. 17.
The cost of the class is $90.
Safety glasses and hearing protection are required. And please note that face masks are required inside any building on the RCC campus.
Additional supplies needed include a glass cutter, glass pliers, glass foil, solder, soldering iron, rheostat, workboard (instructions on how to build will be given at the first class). This initial supply investment will cost $200-$300, depending on the quality of the items chosen.
The classes will be held on campus in the Industrial Technologies 2 Building, Room 101, which is a change from its usual location of the Center for Woodworking in downtown Reidsville.
