Oct 4, 2017Domestic Violence Awareness Events at RCC
Domestic Violence Awareness presentations will be held throughout the month of October on the Rockingham Community College campus. The 1-hour presentations are free and open to the public.
Assistant Professor of Psychology, Marianna Rader will discuss how to spot potential abusers, identify warning signs that abuse will become lethal, and describe how friends and family members can help a victim of abuse.
The presentations will take place in the RCC Auditorium on October 17 – 9:30am, October 18 – 2pm, and October 20 – 11am and 1pm.
Rader has been a domestic violence advocate, speaker, and therapist for over 17 years. She has served on the board of directors of HELP, Inc. and is currently a member of the North Carolina Coalition Against Domestic Violence. Rader holds a Bachelor of Arts from Flager College and a Master’s of Science in Counseling from the University of North Florida. She is available to speak to civic organizations and to groups within the religious community.
