Dr. Sylvia Cox has accepted the position as the sixth president of Rockingham Community College. Currently an executive vice president at Southeastern Community College in Columbus County, Cox plans to begin her new role on May 1.

In 1963, the citizens of Rockingham County requested of the State Board of Education that a local community college be established. Since students first stepped into our classrooms in 1966, RCC has strived to serve, educate and train the community.
